  What is your experience and qualifications for tutoring my child?

• I have 33 years of experience, teaching all age ranges from Nursery to year 6. I have a B.Ed (hons) degree in Primary Education and NPQH. I have held several senior positions in schools including SENDCo and Head of School. I believe that all children can achieve, as teachers we need to find the right ways to support them with their learning. I have a proven track record of helping students achieve their goals.

  How do you assess a child's current level and tailor your teaching?

• I typically start with an initial assessment or discussion to pinpoint strengths and weaknesses. Then, I create a personalised learning plan, adapting my methods and materials to suit your child's unique learning style and pace.

  What teaching methods and resources do you typically use?

• I use a blend of interactive activities, past papers (for 11+), real-world examples, and varied resources like textbooks, online platforms, and educational games. My aim is to make learning engaging and effective.

  How do you track progress and communicate with parents?

• I track progress through regular assessments, observation, and reviewing work. I provide regular feedback to parents, this is a quick chat after a session for 1 to 1 pupils and a follow up email for group sessions, ensuring you're always informed. I am always at the other end of the phone for a longer chat if you need it.

  What is your approach to building a child's confidence and motivation?

• I foster a positive and supportive learning environment, celebrating small wins and focusing on effort. I use encouragement and positive reinforcement, making learning enjoyable and empowering your child to believe in their abilities

 What are your costs for the sessions?

• Group sessions are currently £18 for an hour and 1 to 1 starts from £38.50 depending on whether I come to your house or you travel to mine. All sessions are currently an hour long but can be shortened if need be. Fees are payable monthly in advance by bank transfer. All sessions are term time only but I do offer some holiday sessions for those children who wish to continue over the holidays.
